Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Parallel port interrupt in 2.6 kernel

I have a piece of code that signals if an interrupt is generated on the parallel port. The code worked just fine with 2.4 kernel (SuSE).

Now I've upgraded to 2.6.xx kernels (now I have SuSE and debian), and on the new kernel just no interrupt gets generated with the same HW that worked with 2.4. (For a while I had both 2.4 and 2.6 kernels at the same time; the 2.6 version didn't work then either.)

Even if I don't use my own code (that comes, by the way, from the Internet: http://www.captain.at/howto-linux-de...e-skeleton.php) but the parport I still do not see interrupts being generated from /proc/interrupt or procinfo -i.

I suspect that there must have been config changes or something like that between versions 2.4 and 2.6 but haven't been able to figure myself.

Anybody any ideas?
