What DE do you use?
I know about such a problem in Ubuntu with Gnome. Maybe it will be helpful to you, though I'm not sure if you use Gnome, and if Gnome is available in Mandriva.

In Gnome we must go to System - Parameters - Keyboard, then find the section "Mouse buttons" and disable the emulation of mouse from the keyboard.

My system has Russian interface, so I'm not sure if these parametres are called so in English. But the idea is clear, I hope.

It seems to have fixed itself.
All the settings are as they were.
