Noob question regarding dmesg output

After booting up, I was looking at dmesg and noticed something I was wondering if is normal or not. Is this an indication of a failing drive, or is this completely normal? Something about the words "recovery" and "orphan" worries me. Can anyone explain what this means?

Code:
hdb: max request size: 128KiB
hdb: 160086528 sectors (81964 MB) w/2048KiB Cache, CHS=65535/16/63, UDMA(100)
hdb: cache flushes not supported
/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target1/lun0: p1 p2 < p5 p6 >
EXT3-fs: INFO: recovery required on readonly filesystem.
EXT3-fs: write access will be enabled during recovery.
kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds
EXT3-fs: hdb1: orphan cleanup on readonly fs
ext3_orphan_cleanup: deleting unreferenced inode 322727
EXT3-fs: hdb1: 1 orphan inode deleted
EXT3-fs: recovery complete.
EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.

does this happen every time you boot, or has it only happened once (or twice, etc)?

This is the first time I noticed it. I'll let you know when I reboot.
