No hard drives found when installing linux - IBM eServer XSeries 366

Hi,

Anyone from this forum had encountered or had tried installing Fedora 7 on to IBM eServer XSeries 366 with SAS SCSI controller.

Please let me know how to resolve this issue. Thanks....

I think the 366 uses a funky Adaptec SAS controller... ServeRaid 8i, perhaps.

May need to install the driver at bootup using "linux dd" at install CD boot prompt... after downloading it from the downloads page for this server:

http://www-304.ibm.com/jct01004c/sys...andind=5000008

I'm not sure how it will work on FC7, but it might be best to try the RHEL4 U3 package first.

Good luck!

@strick1226

Yes, it is a SAS controller.

I am new with Linux system, it would be appreciated if you can give me a procedure or short howto. I believe.. RedHat and Fedora have the same installation method. Or, you can write down procedures on redhat installation.

Please.... help me... thanks in advanced..
