Intel D975XBX2 ATX Motherboard

does anyone have any experience using this mother board with linux

No to be a downer, but I do. I just ordered that in hopes of getting Linux to run on it. I had problems with it using the RAID drivers (Marvell or the Intel).

The odd part is that it would pick up the hard drives, partition and install the OS with no issues. However, I could not get it to boot with either LILO or Grub. Could just be my stupidity, but I eventually gave up.

Gentoo 2006.1
Gentoo 2007.0
CentOS 4.4
Sabayon 3.2

I gave up after that I wish you better luck. Let me know if you can get it to work, I would love nothing more than to take Windows off that machine.

I am interested in building a machine for some virtual OSs
don't need to introduce problems
I went thru this with the SIS 645 when it first came out
it took several weeks till I got the chipset to write properly to the disks and lost a lot of data
