I've searched long and wide for help on Tulip.o or Via-Rhine.o (compiled). I cant find any for the 2.4.18-bf2.4 kernal. When I do what Schyld says with the makefile it goes on and on about /linux/modversions.h not existing. I dont think I'm supposed to copy that from RedHat am I? My point is can anyone help me with installing either one of them?
What is the make/model of your NIC? Are you sure it is using a tulip chip? You shouldn't have to do anything special (like compiling a driver or a custom kernel) for a tulip-base NIC in a modern mobo. BTW, there is no "a" in kernel.
One is a Linksys EtherFast 10/100 Lan Card V4.0 and the other is a D-Link DFE-530TX. And sorry I always mis-spell it then google corrects me. As I said though, I done what ever Schyld (Spelling problems) says and had no luck. So again, help?
