Question Mouse scroll wheel not working

Hey everyone,

I'm a newbie at Linux. I'm using Fedora 6.0 and I own a Razer Diamondback mouse. I can only seem to get two of the 9 buttons to work. Could someone let me know how to get the others working?

I've read about conf.org files or something of the sort, but couldn't really make heads or tails out of it... could someone treat me like the ignorant user I am and post a step-by-step guide of some sort?

Thanks guys!

could be a possible solution in that post. drivers could help significantly, if that is in fact your problem.

I don't have a Xorg.conf file =/

And I didn't see where they were talking about drivers for the mouse on the page they linked to.

xorg.conf is usually in the /etc/X11 directory as xorg.conf and it must be existing in one form or another for you to be using the gui.
I'm not familiar with fc6 though so it may be named something a little different.

X server is what gnome or kde runs on top of and is what uses the x config file.

If you do find it, make sure to make a backup of the original working file. so you can always go back and make it the current one again.

use a command like:

Code:
cp xorg.conf xorg.conf-original
or something of the sort.

-best wishes.
