mouse hangs if w/o noapic up on kernel at boot

Hi folks,

AUSU A8N-VM
nVIDIA GeForce 6150
BIOS, latest 0702.ROM

PCI-E Graphic card - Gigabyte GV-NX66256DP2
nVidia G-Force 6600

CPU - Athlon 64 3000+

OS tested - Gentoo_64, FedoraCore5_64 and WinXP

I got this motherboard on April, 2006 up to now with following problem un-solved

Mouse (ps2/wireless) always hangs if with apic on. Therefore I have to with noapic up on kernel at boot. In doing so PC won't poweroff on exiting, with only the system halted. I injected tremendous effort to get this problem sorted out without result.

Is there any clue? TIA.

Before I came across a website testing motherboards submitted for test to check whether they work on Linux. I lost it somewhere and could not find it anymore. Any advice. TIA
