Logitech dual action gamepad (USB interface)

I am curious how to get this gamepad to work in linux. I've searched around the net for drivers for it, but I've had no luck.

Has anyone here had this gamepad working in linux? I'm running the 2.6.5 kernel (Debian distro). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are you using the joydev module? It should work fine with that. Try:
Code:
modprobe joydev

Well, I'm rebuilding my kernel right now with some added HID options that I didn't have in there before, but i'll let you know how it works (and with joystick support).

Shouldn't I have to modify my XF86Config-4 or something? I remember having to do that when my mouse scroll wheel wouldn't work. It seems like I should have to do that again.

Problem was easily solved by going into dselect and selecting the package called "joystick." Linux detected the rest.

I am having nu luck with my Logitech Dual Action controller.

As soon i plug it in, 'lshw' won't list my hardware and the hardware option in the Mandrake Control Centre just stalls.

It also seems to also mess with ALSA as subsequent shutdown attempts after plugging it in will see the system hang at

"Shutting down ALSA"

dmesg doesnt give much, all i could find is

hci_hcd 0000:00:02.1: wakeup
usb 2-3: new low speed USB device using address 2
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: ctrl urb status -2 received
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: usb_submit_urb(ctrl) failed
st: Version 20040403, fixed bufsize 32768, s/g segs 256

I am not sure what else to try..
