Im pretty new here having just installed Mandrake a few days ago and signed up yesterday but I need some help with a gamepad.
I dont know if im just missing a driver or its actually a hardware problem because when i plug in Logitec dual-action gamepad into the USB port and reboot the system hangs on boot up.
My System
800mhz AMD Duron
Gigabyte GA-7ZM motherboard
128mb RAM
20GB HDD
ATI Radeon 7000 series video
C-Media sound (8738 chipset)
Conexant Puresoft 56k v.90 modem (currently unconfigured in linux)
2 USB ports (unknown version)
Dual boot options (respectively)-
Windows 98SE
Mandrake/Mandriva 10.1 (download version)
it seems to be something with the usb ports but they work fine with everything else.. ive tried to find a driver for the gamepad.. doesnt seem to be any to be had.
heres the startup messages about USB:
Initializing USB Controller (uhci-hcd): [OK] Mounting USB filesystem [OK]
.. then it stops dead.
I cant give you any info past that because im relatively knew to the inner workings of linux and wouldnt have a clue as to how to jump down to a prompt to get more from that state in the system.
The gamepad works perfectly in Windows so i know the hardware is good that way... just seems to be a hangup in the config in startup for linux so if can at least get past that, i might stand a chance at getting it working.. lol..
anyways.. thanks in advance for whatever help i can get.. it will be much appreciated.
