My webcam will show and record video but the built in microphone won't work.
For some reason it did work once with wxCam then when I tried it with http://www.tokbox.com I could not get microphone to record again. Video seems to work in all applications.

This is a usb device. Here is the out put of lsusb:

Update:
I installed and tested skype voice seems to work with skype. I called my cell phone and could hear my voice but not with wxCam only video...

wxCam is not detecting audio from web cam here is the out put of about webcam:

install alsa-utils and run command alsamixer as a non-root user.

press F6 to select from a range of sound devices and arrow down and select webcam

press tab to go to capture screen.

its likely to be muted...(if facility exists) or volume too low...so raise it and press escape key.
