List your dream pc (that your building yourself)
i'm about to come into a big chunk of money and i have been wanting to do a serious update on my pc. i'm thinking about building a bitcoin mining rig (to mine just to pay its self off, maybe... hell just being a dude and the thought of having the available power makes me pretty happy)
I was curious what everyone would build if they had the opportunity to build whatever they wanted.
If I will have the big chunk of money as what you said, I won't build a PC. I will build a server, 10TB of RAM, 10TB of HDD and whatever processor out there that would maximize the use of the server.
Or maybe just build my own Datacenter to mine Bitcoin and other data on the net that is useful.

Honestly i think i'm going to be going the server route. Its just brand new territory for me so i'm overwhelmed by the "build a home server" info.
Wait you said 10 TB of RAM? i've never heard of that much wow.
SGI’s 64TB Computer
You may chuckle at the idea of a computer with 10TB of RAM. Well, one already exists. It’s from SGI. The SGI UV (Ultra Violet) 3000 scales from 4 to 256 CPU sockets with up to 64TB of shared memory as a single system. It’s aimed squarely at the enterprise space, SGI is out of the cloud.
That's what I want, computer in the watch or other exterior appliance or decoration like a necklace, slip the monitor over the eye, holographic so you can still see through it, thought controlled so the lips are not moving while working. I don't want an embedded computer for fear of myself or a madman/woman sending me to malicious sites when asleep where I could get infected and possible dying, I'd prefer avoiding internet activity while sleeping, remove it.
This would be mostly for access to the information Hwy, interacting with electronics like TV, stereo, lock the door if you see the mother in-law walking up to it without the sounds associated with running to the door, etc. and communications, not having anything to carry or hold with the hands. As for playing with binary stuff, still prefer a box type computer at home or wherever with keyboard, (laptop etc.)
If a big chunk of money befell me, I wouldn't waste it by going way overkill on a computer. Figure out the processing power you currently need, then maybe double that to have excess capability for future expansion, then put the rest of your monetary windfall into savings/investments. Maybe spend some of the excess cash on tuition for classes to teach you how to protect your investments during the upcoming market crash. That will be coming sooner than you think. Parabolic moves in the stock market like we're seeing today never end well. You might want to learn how to make money in a crashing market, or at least how to protect what you've currently got.
