If you really wrote like here, it's false
Code:
# apt-get mirrior select
This is the correct command:
Code:
apt-get mirror-select

re-install apt. It asks you for mirrors on first launch.

Perhaps you're using a 3rd party apt package. mirror-select is included in the official red hat or fedora.us apt packages; it's an addition to regular apt which doesn't include mirror-select.

Hope that helps.

Here you'll get the latest apt version that will automatically ask for the mirror list after installing. It's a fedora.us package.
