list of supported hardware

Hello folks

does somewere there is a list of linux supported hardware ?
i already find a mandrake and a red hat page were to query the distribution database.
better to find somethings like......
isert your kernel level (uname -r)
select the hardware type (i.e. modem)
and a list shows .

it does exist something like this ?
