thats all well and good, but you forgot to mention that p4's will self protect from excessive heat by slowing down or turning off, athlons will spin happily along until they melt themselves without a good heatsink.

Or you use a motherboard with terminal protection, like I have, and every other AMD computer I've seen so far.
