Linux on Shuttle SA76G2?

Is anyone running Linux on this motherboard? My daughter needs a new computer, and this one is the right physical size to fit her needs. Plus, I think it's cool.

I looked in the HCL and didn't see this motherboard/system mentioned. Google shows one poster who is definite that ISOLINUX won't boot and a few others who mention in passing that they have Linux running. So, if anyone has any comments pro or con for this, I'd appreciate hearing them before making the purchase.

I bought one two weeks ago and could not get Linux to install. I posted in this forum. Fortunately, this shuttle wasn't for me and the client wanted XP anyway. I was having a hard disk issue during xp setup and tried to run gparted from my knoppix disk. I discovered the Shuttle wouldn't boot with any live cd I had. It turned out the HDD was a no-good return from Fry's. Even after that and a new working drive it still would not boot right with Linux.

I do have an older Shuttle X and it runs Mepis 8 with no issues. Caps on motherboard failed after 5 years and have another MB being shipped from shuttle. Shuttle support is pretty good.

You might want to look at the shuttle x27d, that's an even smaller form-factor (takes up less desk space) and can take a slimstyle cd/dvd. From what I've read it seems to be Linux compatible.

That doesn't seem to fit the bill for her. She's not looking for something in the "Atom" performance category.
