Linksys WMP54GS Wireless-G PCI Card in Ubuntu


I am running Ubuntu on my desktop that has a wireless card Linksys WMP54GS Wireless-G PCI Card with Speed Booster my lspci output is
01:08.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 03)

I know there is fwcutter and ndiswrapper Ubuntu wants to download and install fwcutter if that is the right program great ill use it however i am a Linux newbe and don't know how to do it manually as without the wireless card i have no internet
can someone explain how to do it manually or is it worth my time

I think this is going to be a big headache for you.

NICs are dirt cheap now - so I'd just go out and get myself a cheap PCI ethernet card, plug it in, and then get the wireless up and running whilst you are using your wired connection to download fwcutter, visit LQ etc.

Remember, you'll probably have the "No wireless internet connection" problem to deal with every time you change distros.
