ISA EtherExpress 16 compatible with linux?

Hello, I wanted to know if an EtherExpress 16 intel ISA ethernet is good for browsing the web on linux? If not, what ethernet card should I use? Thanks.

eeeh ISA is quite old, actually. It is probablly supported but ISA card are somewhat a pain to use. You better find a cheap PCI card, if your computer has a PCI slot, ethernet card worth less than $15 (CAD) these days.
In any case if you wish to stick with your ISA card, it should work fine, but I predict it will get you a headache :P

I could only use ISA because the pci bridge is dead. I'm also surprised at this because the ISA bridge is RIGHT next to the pci.

Could it be an error with linux not being compatible with the pci bridge?

no, unless you are using a middle age linux (prior to kernel 2.0) and EVEN there I believe PCI should be supported. Maybe your kernel is missing the PCI bus option?
