Is Hiro v.92 56k agere modem ok for linux?

I have an older Compaq Deskpro ep/sp series computer I partitioned into Puppy Linux/Microsoft 2000. It has an ethernet card but I am having a man put in a modem and an intell dial up card.An external modem was suggested to me but I saw this one which was listed as being compatible with Linux. It's not on your list though. Will be it be ok? Is there anything special, like a download, that he has to do to make it work? It was a good price so I thought I would try it.He is not familiar with Linux.
If this doesn't work,I'll do the external one myself.
