Spiffy modem. Just passing through. I have to assume you: A) Have cable or something to get to the internet besides the phone line. B) Not planning to do all of this simultaneously.
Starting Flamming Service [OK]
sheeesh, you are impatient. Stopping Flamming Service [DONE]
The modem that you pick has voice you just need to connect the microphone to the line out of your sound card but don't forget a capacitor if the modem requires a condensor microphone. Since sound cards output to two channels or more, you can use the left channel or buy a two track mixer. Then connect the output from the modem to the line in of your sound card.
When recording you can use a sampling rate of 11025 Hz at 8 bits mono. You can also use mp3 at a bit rate of 16 Kbits to really save on space. Telephone quality is about a 6000 Hz at 4 bits mono for its sampling rate. You can setup a web server so you can listen to your messages when you are out of town for a while.
and the reason for the extra seemingly pointless posts were because these forums do NOT allow u to post a URL in your message unless you have at least 5 posts.
and u cannot post one reply after another, you have to wait 22 seconds before u can post again.
so the extra posts were so that I had enough posts to post the link to the modem
and the 22 seconds were the amount of time between each post.
It was not because I was waiting for someone to reply..!
