Intel 82815 [i815] acting glitchy

I put Slack 10.1 on a PC at work (for fiddling around when I'm bored). It's got an integrated Intel 82815 (i815) graphics chipset in it with 4MB RAM. The ones that are setup for the supervisors to check their email etc have no problems displaying 1024x768 @ 24bit in Win2k.

What I'm finding on this Slack box is that when I go into X (I've tried XFCE, Blackbox, and Fluxbox), menus are very glitchy. Sometimes things don't draw all the way (backgrounds of windows, for example), but if I scribble the mouse over the area it will draw (until I click something or drag the window around).

I am using the i810 driver from xorgconfig. I have tried different horiz and vert ranges and different bit depts (even 8bit). Some settings make it worse. Any ideas?

Apologies if this is not the correct forum.

Had some luck with Google after posting. I added
Code:
Option "noaccel"
to my Device section, and now it all works sans glitchiness.
