Unhappy IDE44 CF adapter

Hi,

I bought a CF-to-IDE44 adapter for my HP t5300 thin client. I was thing of running linux on it. The problem is that some stupid hp engineer decided that the first IDE pin should be on the right side, all the CF adapters I have seen have the first pin on the left side. This makes it impossible to use a CF card with the thin client...

I have run out of ideas of how to make it work, so I'm asking if anyone have any idea...

The read area indicates where the first pin is.

You could have a couple of issues. The cable is not long enough to be able to twist it around to mate pin 1 of the cable with pin of the connector or if the flat wire is on the circuit board side of the connector and there is not enough room to slide it on.

I forgot to mention that the CF adapter has a female connector. Perhaps I should find a cable (they aren't easy to find) and just mount the adapter to the enclosure. Anyone have better ideas? Or perhaps there is a CF adapter that might work.

I purchased a CF IDE adapter recently (~4 months ago) but have not installed it yet. Will have to look and see.

I finally found a IDE44 cable and bought a new CF-to-IDE adapter. Still need to wait on the shipping of the cable to next week, but I should work.
