I have a wireless modem, its my gateway to internet how can I install it??!?
Hi I have a wireless modem.
The Driver and the app that we use is under msWin.
the company said they don't have any driver or app for linux.
what can i do?!?!?!?!!
Welcome to LQ.
It would have been helpful for you to tell us the make & model of your modem, and your wireless card/chip.
A wireless modem shouldn't need any driver under linux, you just connect to it through your wireless card (assuming your wireless chips are supported by linux). With kubuntu, I have an application called wlassistant that helps me do this.
Maybe your modem has the option of using an ethernet cable, in which case you might try using that. Plug the cable in to your modem and your PC, boot, and you'll probably get a connection automatically.
If not, post back here & someone will probably help you.
