I dont have acces to my CDRW drive

Hello. Sorry for this stupied question, I'm new to Linux. I'm experiencing a rather iritating problem involving my CDRW drive. Whenever I start nerolinux from my user (not root) I can't burn CDs as I dont have access to the drive. I can, however do this as root. I have tried changing the permissions on the drive. This isn't urgent but it would be nice if I could get it working so I dont have to switch to root every time I want to burn a cd. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

How did you attempt to change the permissions? What commandline did you use?
