Unhappy i can't install fedora 4 to scsi hdd


i have advsys 3940U scsi card and 2 scsi disk drive. i download fedora 4 dvd ver. and i try to install. but after boot i dont see my scsi hdd. please help me how can i do.

It ain't in the kernel as far as I can tell, so you may have a hard time on fedora.

Well, a scsi card with GPL'd drivers, and keep the disk. Or a SATA/IDE card with GPL'd drivers like 3ware. That's if you're doing RAID though. But can do JBOD as well.

Hello

You must install the SCSI controller driver before it can recognize it has the disk .
First on installation menu type linux dd , then the program will request the floppy disk containing the driver , then carry on with your installation . Should do for you .

thanks, you are right, but i can't find Advansys 3940UA scsi drivers.

That's because they aren't there. Which brings us back to the original point. Buy a card with GPL drivers.
