hello ,

i've installed Ubuntu 8.10 , and i'm trying to install the driver for Hp LaserJet 1000 series , i've clicked on System -> Administration -> Printing, then Server, then i've connected to local host ,and then i've clicked the new button and i've added my hplaser jet 1000 series .

also i've installed hplip-3.9.2.run , but the printer on to to run .

so please help me , how can i get my printer working ...

Please don't post long files like this---we typically are not going to read through so much stuff.

I am not clear on what procedure you used, but try this:

In a browser, enter "localhost:631". This will give you the CUPs administration page which---IMHO--- is the best way to install printers. After entering a name for the printer you are installing, you will come to the "Device" menu. In the drop-down menu, you should see your printer. Select this, and you will then get a dialog to select the driver.

After you have completed this process, do a test print: Select your printer in the "Printers" dialog, and then select "Test Print".
