I can't get my HP Deskjet 3325 (usb) set up with Mdk 10......I have tried to register it with the Mandrake & KDE config GUIs (which is about my level) but no luck, & whether it's connected or not kudzu never notices during boot as it always used to with my previous mdk 9.2..........I've read a few posts on here and tried some of ideas.......using ptal-init setup I see

Currently defined device names:
"mlc:usb:0"

and when it probes for usb connected devices it comes back:

Probing "%002%001"...
No device found

Probing "%001%001"...
No device found

looking at dmesg I see these lines:

usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using address 2
drivers/usb/core/usb.c: registered new driver usblp
drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: v0.13: USB Printer Device Class driver

within /dev/usb there is only the empty directory hid, no lp0

any ideas?

I had all sorts of problems with community edition. Use the official version it has better printer support then I've ever seen before in a linux distribution.

I've had some stability problems with the new kernel but it also installs the old kernel so I just use 2.4.25 until 2.6.* gets more mature. Also xmms seems to cause problems with soundwrapper so change to the alsa driver and try changing your mixer if you have problems after that. Happily those are absolutely the only problems I've run into at all.
