HP/Compaq NC8230 ACPI Fan Control / Fan Sensors / ACPI Questions

Hey everyone. I have slackware 12 installed with the default 2.6.21 kernel. I'm trying to get control of my CPU fan, but I am not sure what modules I need to load. I have tried running pwmconfig and it tells me I have no sensors loaded.

Anyone else out there know what sensors I need to compile in or modprobe to get ls-sensors / pwmconfig to work?

thanks.

** update:

I used an ubunto live CD to boot my laptop, and did lsmod > lsmod.txt and saved that file to a disk. The ubunto has detected and installed the correct fan modules, so I hope I can duplicate that under slackware, perhaps after a kernel recompile. I'll let you know.

If you have lm_sensors installed, run 'sensors-detect' as root, it'll walk you through setting it up and what modules you'll need.

I got to that part, and ran it, with no modules found.
