Unhappy Using ACPI on JDS release 2 Fan control

Hi,

I'm using JDS release 2. My Sony Vaio PCV-RX1 makes a lot of noise under Linux because my cooling fan runs at full throttle. If I run WindowsXP it doesn't. The noise is so loud that I have to place my computer in my basement.

I've already posted a request on JDS forum at Sun's. The told me to install ACPI. I did that. Then what??? Hopefully you can help me.

My question is: How do I configure ACPI so that my fan doesn't make that much noise?

Thanks a lot.

Martijn
