Help configuring USB

I know how to configure pcmcia such that when a card is inserted modules are loaded and services started. Is there a similiar way to configure USB devices? I have a little thumb drive that is supported under linux but I would like to have something that can detect the drive's insertion and can then mount it to the proper mount point.

thnx in advance,
jason

Don't know if this might help. You can use usbmgr to load modules for usb devices but you have to include you device in the /etc/usbmgr/usbmgr.conf file. You have to have the usbmgr-package installed, get the tar file and read the readme.
