Configuring a USB CD-RW
Hello everyone.
I've just bought an Iomega USB external CD-RW. I'm running Mandrake 8.1 with the 2.4.8-26 kernel. Okay, Hardrake has the device down under the CD-ROMS category as:
Vendor: IOMEGA
Model: CDRW6402EXT-B
Device: /dev/scd0
Bus Type: SCSI
When I try:
$ mount /dev/scd0
I get "mount: cant't find /dev/scd0 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab."
When i do a more command on /dev/cdrom0, which is pointing to /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/cd, The light on the CD-RW starts flashing and the screen shows whatever is on the inserted disc only I think it's in ASCII or binary coding or something.
How do I get this thing configured correctly so I can locate files on a disc in the hopes of installing packages and such? Or is it configured correctly and I'm just doing something wrong?
All help is greatly appreciated.
