Cool Hazy screen

Hello,
Being the newbie that I am, I just installed Linux Redhat Personal distro on an Intel box to dual-boot with XP. The install went fine-or so I thought until when I boot up for the very first time, the welcome screen is all hazy like the screen resolution is all wrong. The letters and captions are duplicated as well. Any ideas on how I can fix this without reinstalling. It is stuck at the welcome screen and I can't even click on anything. The cursor is double-has a shadow.
Thanks for your help.
