Hardware suggestions for PXE thin client with HDMI output?

I recently did a LTSP deployment at my house for media centers. Eventually expecting 3-5 thin clients. I need x86 PXE capable thin clients that output HDMI. The LTSP image is Ubuntu Server direct booting to Kodi. I have looked at parts but I don't know how little I can get away with for this purpose. The most difficult decoding, if any will be DVD movies that I have ripped into both MP4 and MKV format. Have no intention of doing BluRays.

Low cost, Low energy use are most important. Would prefer they be small and simple. Embedded fanless is a +.

You could look at the Intel NUC line of fanless PCs. They are small and have HDMI. There is a model with a 4Gb MMC storage module that can boot Linux. If 4Gb is enough space for your install, no disk is needed. All have room for a 2.5 inch disk or SSD. Processors range from Atom to i7. Relatively cheap, too.

jmgibson1981,

The fanless Gigabyte Brix GB-BASE-300 with hdmi may be suitable for your requirements:

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro...px?pid=5569#ov

As you probably know, these are fanless but have no hdmi:

As anotherlinuxuser suggests, the Intel NUCs are worth a look.

This particular one is fanless and has 4GB of memory built in:

This Intel NUC blog may be helpful:

Do let us know if you find something suitable for your LTSP project.
