Hardware RAID - scandisks


i'm running Hardware RAID, does anyone know of any good diagnostic programs for RAID?

is there anyway to access each hard drive indervidually and scan them for errors?

like some how talk tothe raid controller and then know about each of the hard ddrives?

does anyone know of a good scandisk program for linux?

one that will run on a mounted drive would be great!
