hard drive partitions

ok i have slack installed and have just got samba running on a 40gb. when i installed i used a 10gb partition and installed slack on that, the other 30gb i think i used fat32 and the installer gave me the choice to mount it somewhere so i mounted it on /home/win. i think this is where it went wrong, when i share the /home/win directory on windows its size is only 10gb so i think what i did was not partition it properly?
thanks

"i think what i did was not partition it properly? "

You can find out what size your partitions really are with the df command:
df -h /home/win
umount /home/win
df -h /

" how do i partition the rest of the hard drive?"

I would use fdisk. See man fdisk.
