Lightbulb GRUB error 2 for Ubuntu .....Please need help

Hello all,
I'm new to linux and loved Ubuntu.Sorry if post seems fimiliar but most of solutions were to complicated for me or just plain didn't work. Anyways, I recently installed Feisty and it ran fine even the GRUB. Then after I messed around with it a few times I had to re-install it and GRUB worked fine, however after I re-installed it again I get GRUB error 2. I use to get other errors like error 21 and I also had an error 5. I'm new to code so I neeed help if I need to change a file for example (/boot/GRUB) I'm using a live Cd but thats the only thing that works on my computer.

I have:

60 GB WD sda (000)=what it says when I install ubuntu (even though both harddrives are connected by IDE cables)Windows

250 GB Maxtor sdb (010) Ubuntu

500 GB Seagate sdc (000) external nothing on it just files

i tried switching the harddrives and BIOs but to no avail. I need real help. Righ now my main concern is to start Windows up.

Is their a way to just revert back to XP and remove GRUB for now. Then would re-installing Ubuntu fix my GRUB problem?

Also, When I unplugged my maxtor I still get the error, however when I unplug my WD I just get a black screen with a blinking underscore. Don't know if thats normal since I installed ubuntu of my Maxtor. If you guys need to know any of my files just ask. Please Help..

Unhappy

well, Today I used a SuperGrub live cd to uninstall GRUB from my HDA (windows drive) and now I can finally boot windows directly. I first tried to fix Linux but nothing happened, it just restarted my system with another GRUB 2 error. I tried to re-install ubuntu feisty on my MAXTOR drive after uninstalling GRUB, however I still got a GRUB error 2. My plan now is to just stick with windows for a while longer since I do not know how to fix this problem.

GRUB error 2

Hi Ubumby: i'm also getting GRUB err 2 (ubuntu 6.06) & i'm much too nice of a guy for that to happen to. Plz advise how to get the "Super GRUB" CD you mentioned in your post so that Ubuntu can be removed & i can shoot Win XP bugs first until this GRUB situation is resolved.

A "bug report" has been submitted for the err but no response so far. Any idea what causes GRUB err 2 ? The only solution i've found is to reinstall Ubuntu.

Thanx.

Bob
