Hi,
I am running backtrack (the new auditor / whax distro). I have been trying to get the gps to work (Earthmate, USB), and almost succeeded:
I find my location, and everything else seems to be great, except: I keep on losing and getting my signal. It jups from "3D-Fix" to "No Fix" and back. It does so about once to twice a second. The data that xgps gives me seems otherwise very accurate, and only differs by a few 100th of a degree. The sky is sunny blue and xpgs tells me that at least 8 sattelites are in view and that it connected (green dots) to at least 6 of them.
Here is what i did to make it "work" (as to the extend to which it is working):
Code:
mknod /dev/usb/ttyUSB1 c 180 0 #not sure if this was needed
gpsd -p /dev/ttyUSB0 -D5
The only thing that keeps on bugging me: "3D Fix" and "No Fix" flickering back and forth. The same also happens to kismet and gps drive.
Thanks for your help!
