I´ve already tried redhat-config-xfree86 does not work, the thing is that i waht to be able to display X at 1024*768 - 24, and i have tried almost everything, i compile CVS and DRI add the patches i found on linuxquestion.org and havent worked for me!!
I also tried linuxlaptops.com

Im installing linux on a gateway solo 1450

Pentium III 1.2 GHz
128MB + 256Mb RAM
30GB HDD
Intel i830M onboard graphics
eepro100 internal 10/100 ethernet
Actiontec PRISM Wireless LAN USB internal
2 USB ports
maestro3 sound card
Combo CDRW/DVD

It seems that linux does not recognize the amount of memory of the video card, it only sees 1 and the video card has 32, if i check the bios it reads 8....


Im new to linux !! please help out, is there anyone with a succes story configuring the i830 video card at 1024*768 - 24?
