Hey everyone. I just upgraded from ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10 and now my Fujifilm Finepix JV won't mount. I plugged it in and some sort of error code, maybe code 60, and some thing about not being able to lock or unlock the device...i clicked it away too fast to see what it said, figuring the camera would mount right next try, but no. Also the error message won't come up anymore, only that once. nothing happens when i plug the camera in, except the camera goes into USB mode. Any ideas?
Can't help you with an elegant solution, because my Finepix up and died before 10.04.
The sledgehammer approach is to buy a USB card reader, (about 10€ or $) and to use either the file manager (Nautilus, Thunar, or whatever), or simply cp to copy the pictures to a folder on your HD.
This fixed a similar problem with my Kodak.
Make sure you get a card reader that supports your camera's card - Fuji have (or had) quaint tastes in cards.
Well this is just great....after a few restarts here and there over the past 3 days, the entire desktop appearance and preferences changed to some sort of default(all the icons, sounds, colors, menu appearance, etc) but to not the default settings that were in automatically put place when I first upgraded to 10.10. These settings just changed all by themselves after a restart just now....hmmmm...funny yes, but what's more funny is that after these weird changes happened all by themselves, the camera is now recognized with no problems at all. So I'll be keeping on with the 10.10 for a while...I just downloaded another copy of 10.04 too so I guess all i had to do was threaten the 10.10 with a downgrade to 10.04....
