External (USB) DVD+RW Buffer problem.

Hi. I have problems whith my LG GSA-E20N DVD-Ram Drive. When i am writing dvd-r or dvd+r disks on 8x there is no problems. But if I record on 16, buffers are running down and the speed slows down. I am running ubuntu 7.04 64bit with dual core cpu and 2gb ddr2. At the same system if i use Windows the problem does not exist. But the problem is that i do not use windows at all. I try this only for test and this is not a solution. At my laptop (Pentium- m 1.7 1GB) problem exists again. Os ubuntu 7.10 32bit. I used k3b and Nero linux and the problem is still there. Help me please!
