i have a usb 2 dvd drive ( external ) connected to my system, and at first, it seemed like everything worked. In later use, i discovered that when playing dvds he starts to get read errors after about 10 mins in the movie ( after intensive debugging i found out that he doesn't recognize them as read erros, he just reads the wrong stuff ( like 10 k of zeros or so ) ) At first there are not many, later on, the dvd ( after a half an hour ) gets pretty much unreadable ( and then the system really gets read errors ). First i thought it was the dvd, but after trying different dvds and cds, i thought it was the drive, so i built the drive into my built-in IDE slot; and there it works perfectly. I was clueless! The next thing i tried was different distrs. and kernels. Nothing helped. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS ONE. Could it be that my USB-IDE device ( the external thingie where i put in the dvd drive ) isn't supported, which i thnik would be wierd, because don't they use the same USB-IDE chip. Could it be that my built-in USB2 Controller is broken, i thnik its from SiS. PLEASE HEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!
