eth0 problems

Hi i ave just installed the latest Debiaqn..
When the system starts i receive the folowing message from the eth0 interface.

eth0: 21140 transmit timed out, status ffffffff, SIA ffffffff fffffff ....... resetting

The only way to stop it is to run the /etc/init.d/networking stop

You should post more information about your system (network card kernel etc)

This is mostly issue of bad or wrong drivers

Check the drivers (modules) and if they exactly match your card.

with lspci you see everything attached to the pci-bus
with lsmod you see the drivers loaded
with modprobe (-r) you load remove drivers
with ifconfig you see how your network interfaces are configured

let us know what you have to tell you more
