Drivers for RocketRaid 2210 controller on SuSe 11 sp3

OK so I have on old SuSe 9.1 server set up on a Dell 400sc. It had some 40 gb Barracuda 7200 rpm HDs on a raid controller. I paid for some Support my newer server and acidenttaly paid for a license without support. So why not update the old dinosaur while I have a second license right? I had a few SATA drives kicking around and thought do a clean install on some new 1 TB Barracuda drives on a raid controller. the problem is this server is an old dell 400sc the raid controller that I found that would work with an old 32 33 mhz pci slot was the RocketRAID 2210 on their website they indicate compatibility with SLES10, SLES 9, SP2, SP3 (i386 and x86_64) and Open SuSE 11.1 i386. Will any of these RAID drivers work with Suse
11.1 sp3?

Maybe I should stop trying to put lipstick on this old PowerEdge pig leave the old OS and drives on it? Stick with the IDE drives or just use one SATA on the motherboard without RAID. I thought it would be fun to set it up as a backup server or maybe a SMB Server at home. Thoughts?

Suse and OpenSuse have supported a lot of raid cards where others have not.

Where to start I can't say. You could maybe consider building a small distro of 11 at SuseStudio.com and boot to it and see if it see's the raid. Pretty sure you can still get a new OS and that raid card working. May not be able to run much of a gui but that is a different issue.

precompiled driver

I forgot to disclose that I am a newbie. I can barely su to root in terminal. So I am reading the RocketRaid manual and it has a note " If the OS is running kernel that differs from the one supported by the precompiled drivers then the precompiled drivers can not be used. A driver can be built for this kernel using the Open Source Package for the RocketRAID 2210 controller. This package is available from our website , and is posted on the BIOS /Driver page for the RocketRadi 2210."

The precompiled drivers are not for Suse 11 SP3 DOH! honestly how much work is involved in building a driver . . .
