Unhappy Installing Fedora 13 with Rocketraid 2320 raid controller only

Hi
I seem to have a chicken and egg situation.

I can't install Fedora 13 on my brand new system because I only have a hdd configured through Rocketraid 2320 which Fedora 13 does not recognise.

I think I understand how to interrupt the install process and add the drivers.

However, I need to build the drivers first and I can't do that without a Linux system to do it on! Chicken and egg!

Any suggestions, or even better, has anyone already built the drivers for Fedora 13 and can send them to me please?

Regards
Ian

You could ask on Fedora's forums if someone can compile it for you, or even ask for official support from Fedora developers.

You could also download and try RHEL 6 Beta ISO, to see if RHEL have that driver in it by any chance. If it does, then maybe Fedora people could obtain source package and just recompile it.

Runing Fedora From A CF or SD card

Hi Rick here,

I am runing Fedora 13 from both a CF Card and another one from a SD card. Both are 32GB and both work fine. To install I unplug my hard drive and put the CF or SD card into my internal card reader. Then boot the DVD and it finds it and installs it.

After the install is finished I remove the DVD and card, reinstall my hard drive and reboot. Now I am back to windows 7.

Now reboot and hold down the F2 kay or the DEL key depending on what comuter you are using. Go into the setup and slect the boot media,

Mine is.

1st CD/DVD
2nd USB: Generic
3rd SATA

Save and exit.

You will now boot up from your hard drive and into your windows OS.

Now plug in your SD or CF card and reboot. You should now boot up into Fedora OS and it boots up FAST.

No need to install Fedora on your internal hard drive.

Now read this it will save you money.

Not all SD or CF cards will work. I know I spent a lot of money only to find out they woulden't. You need a RAM type card.

I use Topran SD and CF cards only. They work great and run fast on linux OS but won't work with Windows. You can do a serch on Ebay and check for the cheapest price.

Hope this helps
