device won't load

I don't know what I did but /usr/lib/hotplug dissappeared. Any thoughts on how to correct this.

OS is fedora 4 (2.6.12-1.1456_FC4)
dvb card is hauppauge nexus-s (was working earlier today)

I had problems with Mplayer crashing so I uninstalled it and installed a newer version. It's working now but this happened.

thanks

Yes it's still installed. It never dawned on me that it was a package. I was going to uninstall and reinstall it, but most of my system would be un installed with it including alsa and kde. I tried messing around with alsa a couple of times and ended up with a wrecked system.

Can I force a reinstall of hotplug?

I just checked another computer with FC3 and it had hotplug installed and there was no directory either. I guess it's supposed to be that way. It was late when I posted and I thought my firmware was installed there. It's in /lib/firmware (I had it confused with mandrake 10.1). Any other thoughts? --thanks
