[|RoA|]RoadRunner suggests the Dell 1700 as an
example of using non-specific drivers to get a printer going. It is not suggested that the "PCL 6/PCL XL Printer Foomatic/pxlmono" generic driver will work for the 1100. In fact, it will not work.
The printing language this printer uses, according to
DELL), is GDI. This means it is the printer equivalent to a winmodem. i.e. a paperweight.
