Debian/ Fax server

Hey all I am trying to setup a Hylafax server with Debian/sarge. I walk through the setup of the fax settings and at the end when it tries to detect my analog modem it comes back as though it can not configure the speed? So in other words it does not detect the modem. I have 2 U.S. Robotics 56k modems installed during the install I only have a phone line running to one of them. I read the instructions that came with the modems and it says that the drivers for these modems are automatically built into the Linux Kernel. Any suggestions would help I need this thing up ASAP (thats what the boss is saying).

then you don't need any driver, just tell your program, that the modem is located at /dev/ttyS0 (for serial port 1) and it should work.

Easy web based fax with automated install

Have you checked out the Adminsparadise VoIP PBX and fax server

First its FREE!

Second it automagically installs and configures your server for you.

The fax server sets up hylafax, sambafax, and avantfax -- integrated with an iaxmodem.

Winprinthylafax works with it.

There is a livecd to preview and an installation cd that automatically sets it up for you.

the avantfax package has been tweaked so instead of only uploading tiff and pdf documents you can also upload the microsoft stuff -- docs, excel etc.

there are screenshots and flash movies that walk through it.

www.adminsparadise.com/downloads.html.

Why waist your time? -- sit back, sip a margarita and let the install run.

PS it also includes a full featured phone system -- with scheduled conferencing, paging, music-on-hold etc... for free...
