D.S.L. Sound Prob

I am using DSL, and when I open XMMS, and play a song, I get an error that says

Could'nt open Audio

You should chceck that:
1. You have the correct Output plugin selected
2. No other programs are blocking the soundcard
3. Your Soundcard is configured correctly

I have already tried all three output plugins. For 2 of them, I get that error, but for the other one, the file plays, but at warp speed. Plus I cant hear anything... How can I fix this problem???

First nothing to do with DSL. Need more info.

What kind of song? wav, cd, mp3, streaming mp3, or what?

version of XMMS?

Linux release?

Kernel level?

Sound card Type? (brand, model, irq)

Which gui? (version, level,etc)

What modules loaded?

Does sound works on other apps

Any other hardware?
