Creative SoundBlaster 5:1 - Digital output

Hi all,
I've been googling for the past several hours and still havn't came up with a solution. I recently installed Fedora Core 4 (I have had this problem on other Distros too.) and i speakers that only read a digital output, "Boston Digital BA735" in windows its easily changed just by checking an opition in the speaker function Digital output ON or OFF. but Fedora dosnt seem to output sound in a digital format, i can listen to my music with my head phones but no with these speakers.

Any suggestions

Thanks for reading

You need to run alsamixer (in a console) and unmute your sound. Once thats done, run "alsactl store" as root.

You need to install xmms-mp3 for xmms to play mp3s. As for your audio CDs it could be that you need to unmute the volume of your cd player in alsamixer or you don't have a cable connected from your cd drive to your sound card.
