Creative Soundblaster Live!

I managed to get my soundcard working under xmms (using ALSA1.2.10 LIBAlsa.so with EMU10K1) But when I check the soundcard detection tool it does detect it along with the onboard soundcard (VIA AC97) but the creative one wont work. I'd rather not use the onboard one as the soundblaster is way better. Any ideas on getting it to work?

I'm using Fedore Core 2 and a creative soundblaster Live 5.1 PCI

Disable your onboard soundcard card using the bios.

Why bother whit that onboard soundcard? Doesn't your Soundblaster work?

Do you have a software modem on your motherboard? It might be that one that shows up as a sound card. To make that work, if you want that, have a look at linmodems homepage.

What does lspci gives you? What does lsmod gives?
